Paynter’s Paint Ranch is located south and west of Denver in Sedalia, Colorado, in the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains.  Founded in 1988, it is owned and managed by Peggy and Wendell Cummings featuring American Paint horses carrying the lineage of COLOR ME SMART.  Peggy and Wendell breed, raise, and show paints successfully in APHA, NRHA, NRCHA, and NCHA events.  Their signature Colorado registered brand is “Reverse Slash Bar Star.” They also own and operate LRC Silver Leather and Tack, a full service source for horse related products.

SMARTLITTLEJRFRECKLES, PPR’s current senior ranch stallion is an own son of COLOR ME SMRT out of a producing mare, Miss Zippin Freckles, a granddaughter of Colonel Freckles.
DIABLOS PAINTED DOC is the junior ranch stallion by JR RED DIABLO and won Junior Reining and the Bob Clark Memorial Award at the 2008 National Western Stock Show in Denver.

Peggy and Wendell have been APHA World Show competitors since 1995 and both have ridden the renowned Working Cowhorse, PICK A WINNER. “Winners” has earned a Superior in Amateur Working Cowhorse and Three Reserve World Championships.  He also has numerous Top 5 and Top 10 Awards at the APHA World Show, as well as a myriad of other circuit and regional championship awards.

SMARTLITTLEVALENTINE is one of the rising stars of PPR.  So far, in 2008, she has earned over $6,000 in NRCHA events and won the Sagebrush Slide Novice horse 5000 K and was second in the Open Derby.
 
DUN COLORED SMARTLY
DUN COLORED SMARTLY is another rising star.  She was the 2007 RMPHA Champion in Novice Amateur Reining and Amateur Working Cow Horse, while placing Reserve in Open Working Cow Horse.  She was a finalist at the 2007 APHA World Show in both Novice Amateur Reining and Amateur Working Cow Horse.  “Sassy” has placed well and earned unofficial money in NRHA.
